1 Day Dyeing Workshop: An Introduction to Japanese Indigo Dyeing

Are you interested in learning a new skill? Fancy making a unique shibori piece of your own?

If so, come along to our 1 day indigo dyeing workshop!

The Japanese use tenugui, which are reusable hand-towels, in order to cut down on the use of disposable towels in public bathrooms. More intricate versions are now being used to decorate the home, as wall-hangings or small tablecloths.

During the course of the day, students learn about the history of indigo dyeing in Japan and will learn how to dye two of their own tenugui using the shibori technique. By the end of the class each student will have their own unique tenugui to take home and enjoy!
