Katazome Cushion


A beautiful statement cushion for any chair, adding a modern twist your home but made using traditional handcraft techniques.

The pattern is created using an ancient Japanese textile technique called Katazome. Katazome is a stencil dyeing technique whereby rice paste is pushed through the hand-cut stencil, left to dry and then dyed in indigo. The rice paste prevents the indigo from penetrating, therefore creating the pattern.

The linen is an Irish linen called Tyrone linen with is a heavy woven linen in natural oatmeal colour. One of the highest quality linens which it durable and suited to style in contemporary or traditional home.
