Japanese Cranes Wall Hanging

The Japanese crane is used in wedding ceremony to symbolise longevity in marriage and life together. This stunning contemporary wall-hanging could be a unique wedding or new home gift to a couple start their life together.

This piece is made from Tyrone linen, which is originally a natural oatmeal colour and is a heavy weave. This means that the fabric has a lovely texture and the weight falls perfectly against a wall.

The pattern on this will-hanging is created using an ancient Japanese textile technique called Katazome. Katazome is a stencil dyeing technique whereby rice paste is pushed through the hand-cut stencil, left to dry and then dyed in indigo.
